A garden with view right on the old city wall-incredible.

The breakfast was varied and comprehensive. Monica made coffee for us and asked if we wanted more. Fresh fruit, yogourt, cereals, breads to toast, meats and cheeses, juices and several different pastries. I mention this as I thought I had read a review that suggested the breakfast wasn’t very good. It was excellent and trays were available for us to dine in the garden if we wished. What I really wanted to mention was how exquisite and unique this property is, so I don’t think the photos on Booking com do it justice

The location was excellent. The garden was so beautiful that we stayed there for many hours. It was a relaxing and beautiful place to stay. Our hostess was very nice and helpful, recommended many things for us to see and do.

A little bit of paradise in the walls of the city of Castiglione del Lago

The location of this delightful B&B within the walls of the city of Castiglione del Lago was idyllic. Our hostess, Monica, was extremely pleasant, helpful, friendly, and clearly (and quite rightly) very proud of her little bit of paradise! The rooms were furnished with great style, nothing left to chance. The jewel in this crown is undoubtedly the secret garden, a few metres down the quiet alley from the front door, and through a locked wrought iron gateway. Magnificent views over the lake, it was so peaceful.

Probably the best accomodation in town

We loved Monica, the host — she was kind, generous, spoke great English and gave great advice on where to go and what to do. The room was light and airy and was complete with everything you would need. The bed was comfy too. The garden is beautiful and has a tremendous lake view. The location is also great, just inside the old town with ample parking at the bottom of town, just a short walk up some steps..

Wish we could stay longer…

We found Il Torrione while searching for places to stay in Castiglione del Lago. All the reviews are correct–A fine place to stay with nice accomodations, a great host and perfect location. Very nice outdoor grounds. Highly recommended. Thank you Monica for a nice visit.

There is free private parking below the castle walls, and then a short walk up the stairs to the castle entrance –Then a short turn to the right to property. Easy to find.

Idyllic B and B with superb lake view

“I visited with friends. I know Castiglione del Lago well having visited the area about 25 times over the years. The owner was incredibly friendly, efficient and helpful. The weather was kind to us for our 5 night stay. Breakfast was comprehensive and we took trays and ate in the terrace, There are several good restaurants in Castiglione old town a very short walk from Il Torrione
I hoep to stay again next year in the Spring”

Wonderful Italian experience

“We stayed at Il Torrione for three nights and had an upstairs room which was lovely and had its own ensuite. Breakfast was served each morning in the garden over looking the beautiful lake. Franco, the owner was fantastic, so much food for breakfast. Picked us up from the train station as we had no transport in Italy. Couldn’t have wished for a more relaxing stay to end our trip in Italy. The old city is so beautiful , everyone was very friendly and the food and wine excellent. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone”

What a cute little gem with a secret garden & Lake view

“My wedding guests stayed here & all of them had an amazing time. Our guests filled up the place. They were met by Franco with a welcome prosecco up in the gorgeous garden with a stunning lake view. All of the rooms are really clean & kept well. Nobody had any complaints & full of praises for their entire time. Everybody respected the garden for the calm & tranquil place that it is & some of my girlfriends even slept under the stars for a bit and enjoyed the magical nights before heading to their rooms. I am so glad we chose Karin & Franco’s place for our guests because they gave them a home from home.”
